In September, 2016, I talked with a very prominent evangelical leader whom I deeply respect He told me that he did not know anyone on his huge board of directors of more than 50 prominent evangelical leaders who supported Donald Trump for president.
People tout being against abortion and same sex marriage as a reason to support an immoral man. What I can't understand is doesn't the GOP have someone else who can hold their parties' same agenda without all the smelly baggage. Is DJT the best their party has to offer? If not, the GOP is more serious trouble than we thought.
Why haven't those who hold these beliefs demanded a better leader a better candidate than DJT. I can take Scripture after Scripture to prove the case that this man should not be the country's leader. I can hardly read the Book of Proverbs anymore because I see all the things in DJT God says not to do or who not to follow. Proverbs 6 has a list of things that state things God calls an abomination. DJT fits about four or five. Depending on how one interprets it he may embody all seven things God says He hates. The abomination of stirring up conflict is enough to disqualify him from leading this country. There is still time before the GOP Convention to find another qualified candidate. If the center keeps quiet this time round they deserve all the condemnation that is heaped on therm.
Joe Biden is an immoral man. He's up to his eyeballs in corruption. I know Trump has sinned. I don't support his sins. I support his policies. I believe he is doing a good job. I'm not an Evangelical. I'm a Catholic. But I respect that Evangelicals stand against the much greater immorality of the destruction of life in the womb. Biden is on the side of the abortionists. How can that be supported?
The Republicans need a better candidate than Trump. Find a better person who can articulate the party's policies. He is divisive. There must be a better GOP standard -bearer than him. He is toxic. Replace him with a better representative for the people. His personal life is not godly. He has used God's name in vain. He has called numerous people names He's mocked the disabled. He is not inclusive. He is the antithesis of all things godly. Find a true statesman in the GOP and put the person forward. Again I say if he is the best the GOP can do that's pretty shameful. Don't let this embarrassment continue. He's not just rough around the edges and you know it and the whole world is watching.
I've watched news conferences with him and other leaders in the Oval Office. He is not prepared cannot speak cogently on the topics under discussion. He does not exercise prudence. He does not seem to understand that the words from the President of The United States matter and do have serious ramifications. I am not saying that policies need to change. I am saying this particular man has proven again and again that he is not even trying to be worthy of the august position he holds.
He's the President. It's too late to pick someone else, which would foolish even if it were possible. I don't see how Trump's flaws somehow make Biden's flaws more acceptable or especially that his policies would be acceptable. Trump really is a threat to "the swamp" which is why the media and establishment types have been targeting him since he was elected.
It's not too late. Do you understand I am not talking about Biden or changing a platform or policy. Keep the policies, keep the agenda. Just because he's the president now does not mean he's a good fit. I hope this picks up steam. The GOP needs a new candidate!! Flaws and crassness are two different things. Material can have a flaw, but if the warp and woof of the fabric is off and damaged the garment is not going to fit. The warp and woof in the fabric of DJT is off..not a good fit no matter how you spin it. I'm sure you see it. It's not flaws.
Ask yourself isn't there one person among the GOP leadership in the whole United States that can do a better job than the present occupant? There's not one governor, Senator, congressperson, businessman that could be more mature and exercise the leadership this country needs at this crucial stage in history. Not one?
That's how you see it. That's not how I and other Trump supporters see it. Yeah there are some times when I wish he would shut up, but that's the way he is. That doesn't disqualify him. He's done a lot of good. I don't think any other Republican would have the nerve to stand up to the press the way he does (and should--they are literally out to get him, besides advancing their leftist agenda). But even if I did want another Republican candidate, there's no time for a challenger. Anyway, if it's Trump, as I expect it to be, you're going to vote for Biden?
I think he's doing a great job and deserves to be reelected in spite of his flaws and lack of being able to do a proper tea time or please the establishment.
Maybe it's not too late for Trump to learn how to go beyond "me & my family first" and "unborn lives matter" to also advocate: black lives matter, native Americans matter, creation care matters, equal opportunities matter, every American matters, every immigrant matters, and all nations (not just Israel) and races (not just Jews) matter. In Jesus' name. Amen?
I was extremely disappointed to see you were editor of the book about Trump, and even more disappointed when I heard you were still a Democrat. I seriously believe the Democrats are aggressively taking away Religious liberties and pushing for anti-Christian values. I believe they are behind taking prayer and Bible reading out of schools in the 1960’s, pro-abortion, do their own thing choices, promoting homosexuality, ruling against the Biblical view of marriage, encouraging welfare vs work, using illegal immigrants rather than US citizens, and the list goes on. I realize Trump is far from perfect, but he does stand up for Christian values. Plus, the media continues to twist the truth, so how can you tell what is honest. I believe the persecution against Christians and Christian values will reach a new high if Democrats gain the presidency and senate and house. Again I lost respect for you to write that book right now.
Trump did condemn the Neo Nazis, etc., The "fine people" he was referring to was not them:
Trump:
It’s fine, you’re changing history, you’re changing culture, and you had people – and I’m not talking about the neo-Nazis and the white nationalists, because they should be condemned totally – but you had many people in that group other than neo-Nazis and white nationalists, okay? And the press has treated them absolutely unfairly. Now, in the other group also, you had some fine people, but you also had troublemakers and you see them come with the black outfits and with the helmets and with the baseball bats – you had a lot of bad people in the other group too
How can Christians vote FOR abortion? Abortion is a horrible injustice which takes the lives of over 2,000 DAILY in the US alone. Trump is a friend of the unborn and his policies back that up. Biden and the Democrats are the enemy of the unborn. Trump is rough around the edges, but loves our country and embraces and supports just policies.
He caters to the rich and is trying to take away mine and others health care that I desperately need. Also Medicaid, Medicare, Disability, supports racism, lies, letting people die for the sake of his ego
Lawless mobs are taking over city blocks, destroying public property, and some are even making threats about destroying statues in churches because of "white Jesus." And it won't end with statues. They'll come after any church whose doctrine is not to their liking. Democrat governors and mayors are doing little or nothing in response. They let lawlessness rule. Trump won't stand for that. We need him now more than ever. Democrats won't protect us from the thugs. And they won't protect innocent unborn babies from abortionists. You'll have your health costs covered.
Global poverty kills many more than 2000 persons every day. Inadequate health care is killing a much higher percent of African-Americans right now in Covid-19. I will later do a blog on being "Completely Pro-life (the title of my book in the 1980s).
Those who makes that claim about being "pro-life" compared to the pro-lifers who defend life in the womb, seem to always fall short of actually supporting laws which protect the unborn. In your "Completely Pro-life" position, do you support laws that would protect the unborn from being killed by abortions? Also, you are unfairly comparing global poverty to the number of abortions in the US. That people die by other causes or even because of neglect or unfairness doesn't excuse intentionally killing unborn life.

That is exactly what I was saying to someone earlier. Wow!
