I once preached a sermon at my North Philadelphia congregation with the title: “What Does Sin Have to do with the Finite and the Infinite’? I immediately added that when they heard the title of this sermon, some probably thought: “ Come off it , Ron. Get off your high horse and cut the high fallutin’ nonsense.”
I wonder if God made Adam and Eve infinite? But through sin, their bodies became finite. If Adam and Eve had eaten from the Tree of Life, they would have lived forever separated from their Creator. So God banished them. He will once again bring man into a righteous and intimate relationship with Him through His Son, Jesus.
If Christians had the proper perspective--God first, bigger than everything else in our lives--then the church would look completely different than it does. Trying to comprehend and view creation thru God's perspective may be impossible, but it's all about the spiritual aspiration, just like everything else in life--aspire to "be perfect, as your heavenly Father is perfect" (Mt 5), and you'll accomplish great (again, spiritual) things by trying.
