It seems like a central pillar to your argue is that President Trump lies, yet, you are so eager to paint the President as an org that you have no hesitation in creating false narratives about the President!

I got it. It is pretty good. As to my earlier comment, it does not seem to be so much of an encouragement to vote for any particular candidate so much as it as a warning to evangelicals about the danger of turning a blind eye to President Trump's serious defects. I really appreciated the thought that was put into it.

Do you think Hillary Clinton would have been better? What would be different now if pro-abortion Hillary were President? I didn't vote for Trump based on his personal behavior. I know he's a sinner. I voted for him based on his policies. I strongly disagree with your characterization of President Trump. He's doing the best he can considering he has a hostile press to deal with and that the former administration illegally spied on him and worked (and still is working) to undermine his presidency. He's a threat to the power-hungry in Washington.

I also voted for Trump - but held my nose. Then after talking with a few of my kids (daughter is in missions - Haiti, Togo, Bosnia) and going to a few missions conf - and having a daughter in law that is now hated in part due to rhetoric - I can no longer vote for DJT. Know many that do and have changed some or part of theology or orthopraxy due to the POTUS. Go to mainly white conservative church. Even had a meeting with the pastor about something the Prez said I wanted to get clarification from him - my pastor sided with scripture over what the prez said. I see many that continue to remind me that even with Jesus some wanted a different Messiah....still do when we put more hop in the Oval Office than the Throne of Heaven.

So you instead will vote for a pro-abortion candidate? You do realize that Christians who vote for Trump don't see him as a "messiah" don't you? I am a practicing Catholic and have not overlooked any Catholic doctrine in my decision to choose between two different platforms and two different and flawed individuals. Yes I know Trump is a sinner. So is the person who cuts my hair, but I still go to her. So is my pastor. So am I. So are you. Etc. etc. etc.

The trouble is I see quite a bit that do see him as a messiah (Jesus died for you, Trump lives for you, He is your protector, etc).

Due in part to Trumps rhetoric on immigrants I know a pastor to immigrants getting on average 5 hate emails per week (go back to your country).

Abortion - yes I believe its sin - so is greed, lying, idolatry - but imagine giving a politician the power "As long as you say/do something against abortion...I will support you NO MATTER WHAT." That gives the power to a political to do just that. And BTW abortions have been going down no matter who's in the WH. Been [R] since ...well the '70's. Politically homeless now.

Been at more mission conferences that I can count...Urbana 84...heard a friend of Corrie Ten Boom in a early bible study, was in a study with John Perkins (civil rights icon), etc. I have problems with both parties on certain issues. Fortunately my salvation is not dependent on any politician walking the earth today.

It seems to me that you are creating a colossal straw man. What Christian doesn't believe that Jesus is the Way the Truth and the Life and through Him we have our Salvation? Nobody thinks that Trump is our savior. I support Trump and his policies, though his policies aren't perfect. And in spite of his flaws and sins, his policies are much more in alignment with my Christian beliefs than those of Biden (who is in no way a saintly man). Abortions are going down? They're still at over 2,000 per day. Over 2,000 unjust deaths EVERY DAY. I can't support that. I don't know that Trump has any problem with legal immigration or that there is any policy to tell immigrants to go "home." We're certainly not killing 2,000 immigrants every day. Also, if someone can support such an evil thing as killing an unborn baby, what does that say about them and their character? I should think such a person is a loyal servant of the Lord? I should think they make good moral decisions? We have an opportunity now to stack the court with conservative justices and overturn Row v Wade and change our national conscience regarding abortion and maybe begin turning our culture around to one that respects life beginning at conception. At any rate, even if abortion were not on the table, I would still vote for Trump over Biden based on economy and defense. I find nothing appealing about Democratic policies and politicians.

I ordered the book this morning, and I am looking forward to reading it. I wanted to ask whether it goes into some of the moral qualms that Christians have about voting for the Democratic Party? I have read some of your arguments on it, but I wanted to see if the books goes into it more.

A vote for a Democrat is a vote for the unjust killing of the unborn. How can a Christian do that?

In a future blog, I will show why it is wrong to think that the issue of abortion "trumps" all other issues.

I have read a lot of the book, and I realized the point of it was not so much an encouragement to vote for a Democrat as it was a warning to evangelicals against blindly supporting the President and acting as though he is some sort of evangelical messiah despite his serious character flaws. I look forward to reading the future blog, but I understand why it was not dealt with in the book.

I'm looking forward to that. I hope you will address what is most perplexing and frustrating to me. There seems to be a trend lately of criticizing pro-lifers and saying they are not really pro-life because they don't accept (or that's what their accusers say) certain social programs, don't believe in passing out contraception to teenagers, don't care about the "destruction of the planet", that they only care about the unborn and not those who are born, etc. They say that the pro-lifers are not really pro-life at all, that THEY are the ones who are, even though they support abortion rights. What I am wondering is that why those who say they are so much more compassionate and caring than the pro-lifers cannot also acknowledge the moral worth of a fetus and why they do not desire protection of the unborn and prefer that there be abortionists who can kill them? Why can't they be pro-life for the unborn?
