Who is USA praying to when there is no mention of a deities name to identify the focus of those prayers?

BIDEN BECOMES 1ST PRESIDENT TO OMIT 'GOD' FROM NATIONAL DAY OF PRAYER PROCLAMATION

President Biden on Wednesday issued a National Day of Prayer proclamation that touted the "power of prayer" and invited Americans to "give thanks," although the proclamation's absence of the word "God" sparked criticism and marked the first time that's happened in modern history.

By a 1952 law, every U.S. president must issue a proclamation designating a National Day of Prayer. This year the day fell on May 6.

"Today, we remember and celebrate the role that the healing balm of prayer can play in our lives and in the life of our Nation," the proclamation reads. "As we continue to confront the crises and challenges of our time – from a deadly pandemic, to the loss of lives and livelihoods in its wake, to a reckoning on racial justice, to the existential threat of climate change – Americans of faith can call upon the power of prayer to provide hope and uplift us for the work ahead."

On the National Day of Prayer, "we unite with purpose and resolve, and recommit ourselves to the core freedoms that helped define and guide our Nation from its earliest days," it reads.

"We celebrate our incredible good fortune that, as Americans, we can exercise our convictions freely – no matter our faith or beliefs," it reads. "Let us find in our prayers, however they are delivered, the determination to overcome adversity, rise above our differences, and come together as one Nation to meet this moment in history."

The proclamation, though, omits the word "God," making Biden the first president not to include "God" in his proclamation in the modern history of National Day of Prayer proclamations. The omission is ironic, because secular groups in recent months have criticized Biden for discussing religion too much.

According to the text of proclamations at UC Santa Barbara's American Presidency Project, every proclamation since 1953 – the first year proclamations were required under law – had included "God" until this year. Most proclamations mentioned "God" multiple times.

David Brody, the chief political analyst for CBN News, criticized the proclamation for what it didn't include.

"Joe Biden's National Day of Prayer Proclamation has been released and it doesn't even mention God once! How do you release a proclamation about prayer and not mention God at all?" Brody wrote in a tweet.

President Trump's 2018 proclamation mentioned "God" multiple times, such as: "On this National Day of Prayer, let us come together, all according to their faiths, to thank God for His many blessings and ask for His continued guidance and strength."

President Obama's 2015 proclamation referenced God three times, including in the following phrase: "Through prayer we find the strength to do God's work." Obama's 2010 proclamation read, in part, "On this day, let us give thanks for the many blessings God has bestowed upon our Nation."

President George W. Bush's 2003 proclamation read, "We come together to thank God for our Nation's many blessings, to acknowledge our need for His wisdom and grace, and to ask Him to continue to watch over our country in the days ahead."

President Clinton's 1995 proclamation read, "Let us not forget those painful lessons of our past, but continue to seek the guidance of God in all the affairs of our Nation

And again, look what so-called Pro-life Evangelicals for Biden (and Harris—don’t forget: immediate succession!) an oxymoron if ever was! See what your misguided leadership seeking some quantity of ethical balance continues to do to our country:

The first-ever press conference by President Joe Biden showed a president who used prepared notes to call on reporters and to stay on message but who paused mid-sentence to gather his thoughts and appeared to lose track of his words.

AP FACT CHECK: Biden skews figures on border and taxes

Thanks to the real-time reaction on social media, in particular Twitter, reporters and political activists reacted with alarm as the 78-year-old answered what appeared to be pre-selected questions from pre-selected White House reporters.

“Why does Biden need to read his answers?” demanded Fox News host Laura Ingraham.

“It looks like he’s reading from his Qs and As on North Korea. No one does this,” commented Ari Fleischer, the press secretary for President George W. Bush.

Blind leading the blind; causing little ones to stumble; shame! All the leaders involved in this shameful mix of politics with preaching should bow in great humbleness and cry out to God for His forgiveness as millions of babies—human beings, innocently awaiting God’s great gift if life through birth—begin, once again, to hear that ghastly, horrendous metallic whining noise and feel the terrible coldness of the mirderous fate that awaits them under Biden/Harris and aided by your group; shame!

And, the consequences of your group of Pro-Life Evangelicals for Biden just keep on coming........ (OneNewsNow.com)

“According to Sarah Perry a legal fellow at The Heritage Foundation, the clues are already apparent. One example is the Biden administration's recent firing of Sharon Fast Gustafson, who had gained a reputation for defending religious liberty, from her post as general counsel for the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC).

"It's significant that Gustafson, when she joined the EEOC, was vocally committed herself to the cause of religious liberty," Perry recalls. "I believe that that was of the fact that she might be problematic for an anti-faith administration."

Trump appointed her for a term ending in 2023, and fellow appointee Roger Severino's term was to end in 2024, but both individuals have been fired -- something Perry says Biden does not have the constitutional or legal right to do so”

You have a much larger, more catastrophic issue on hand that “Christian nationalism”, Brother Sider:

You and other Christian leaders persuaded millions of Christians to vote for Joe Biden or not at all simply because of your hatred for one fallible man. You and your group of pro-life evangelicals for Biden bear the shame of causing so many to stumble, and now fein disappointment and confusion at what Joe Biden and the radically progressive Democrats are doing to our country; SHAME! ( see below):

We are very disappointed about the COVID-19 relief package's exclusion of the Hyde amendment, a longstanding bipartisan policy that prevents taxpayer funding for abortion. We're even more upset that the Biden administration is supporting this bill. As pro-life leaders in the evangelical community, we publicly supported President Biden's candidacy with the understanding that there would be engagement [with] us on the issue of abortion and particularly the Hyde Amendment... We feel used and betrayed."

Every last one of you should humble yourselves before the LORD fit what you did! Senator Chuck Schumer was not lying down there in Georgia that day when he said if we (Democrats) win Georgia we are going to change America—-and they are!! So foolish!!! Even more so dangerous and wicked!!!!

Cry out and repent for causing little ones to stumble is a very grave matter: “But, Lord, I did this in your name, I did that in your name....”.

Biden et al have only begun.....

This is a nice effort but as evangelicals we have a more dire problem and I am concerned that it is not being addressed by you and you peers. That is the "Spiritual Danger of Joe Biden". It has not been two months in office and already efforts like the Equality Act and HR 1 on election reform are going to 1) increase the declines in moral behavior in the country and 2) further marginalize people of faith. Are you and the co-authors of your book on Trump going to take the same critical analysis of Biden. He claims to be a Catholic yet aggressively supports abortion, same sex marriage, marginalizing Christians in the marketplace, and gives support to the cancel culture. At the we are going this blog will be canceled by year's end.

All I can say is HALLELUJAH! PRAISE BE! Both my husband and I signed and posted on FB, email, etc. I am not ashamed to say that I have, many times, been on my knees for the last 5 years, crying out to God for this TRUTH to come to light!

Please tell us what else we can do to help. 🙏🏽

Although i am not an evangelical christian ki welcome this long overdue statement. The sad thing is that voices such as these have been drowned out by voices of hate intolerance and extremism within the evangelical community. It is sad that a crackpot psedo historian such as david barton can have a larger following among evangelicals that reputable evangelical historians such as mar noll and george marsden. This is part of what mark noll a generation ago refered to as the scandal of the evangelical mind.

Religious nationalism is closely related to civil religion, the state having quasi religiiousfeatures.

Things such as unsder God in the pledge of allegence and inb God we trust on coins need to be rooted out. If progressive evangelicald have to work in coalition with militant aytheists to accomplish this so be it. these things are arrogant suggestions the united satates has special relationship with god.this will not be easy nor will it be popular but it must be done. who knows a coalition between militant atheists andprogressive evangelicals might make the former less militant!

religious nationalism is already backfiring. recently there has emerged smething called project blitz led by david barton and other religious nationalists. when it called peter marty son of the highly respected church historian martin marty "anti-christian" because he objected to a law mandating the posating of in God wetrust in public school classrooms it lost credibility.

The religious right is dying . the sad thing is that the things it has been right about are losing support. Human trafficking deniers have used guilt by associatioin and religion baiting to attack

opponents of human trafficking. Ghe alternative to the exccesses of the religious right should not be hedonism and hostility to religion. we need resposible conservatism and resposible progressivism.Good history that deals in compexity and nuance and good theology that deals in the uncertainity of UJtimate reality are needed to achieve that end
