OH NO! What a great loss to the Christian community! God certainly used him as a prophet to the Christian community by alerting us to 'THE SPIRITUAL DANGER OF DONALD TRUMP" My love and prayers are reaching out to you and all of his family as I write this. May God's love and peace surround each one of you as you process all that has happened. <3

I am so sorry for your loss. I was first impacted by your father Ron as a college student back in 1987. His insights into a life lived in faith have been part of the foundation of my wife and my choices ever since. I grieve with you and celebrate a life well lived. May you be comforted by family and friends, and by many good memories and stories you share in common and from around the world. Love in Christ, Dale

Ted, I remember you & your brother, Michael, being very active little boys at Messiah College on Broad Street, January 1972-May 1973. Your Dad was my professor. When I was student at Eastern Baptist Seminary, 73-77, he accepted an invitation of mine to give a defense of the biblical peace position. My Biblical & Social Ethics professor believed in the just war theory. After Ron accepted my invitation I learned that there would be no honorarium. When in embarrassment I contacted to cancel bc of that your Dad was very gracious & said that he would still come. I also knew your Mother. When I felt called to the field of counseling I reconnected with your Mother. She was my off-site Supervisor for a semester when I attended Hahnemann University. Your Dad played a large part in my spiritual journey to becoming Anabaptist. I also appreciated your Mother’s guidance in becoming a LMFT. Henry Renn

Such a great loss. That man changed my life. Very few men (apart from my own father) have had such a deep influence on me as did your dad

Really saddened to hear this. I loved working with Ron in CSA (at the time it was ESA). He was kind and had a sense of humor putting others at ease. Deepest sympathy and love to Arbutus and the children.

Really very sad to hear of Ron's passing. He was truly a compassionate leader and prophet for our times. His family and close friends can be assured that Ron left a wonderful legacy for Christians to follow. Thankfully his last published work, THE SPIRITUAL DANGER OF DONALD TRUMP, will give us all a guide for the next few years. I met Ron on two occasions during the past 30 years. He was truly a humble, bright, and compassionate servant of the Lord Jesus Christ. His writings will inspire us for many years into the future. I look forward to reading his yet-to-be published autobiography

Ron's passing is a hard blow to our system. He was a much loved and respected evangelical scholar and fellow activist for the common good in society. His writings and talks inspired many young South Africa to serve Jesus holistically and stay true to scripture. For decades, my wife and I considered him a dear friend and companion in the struggle for justice in South Africa. Our prayers are with Arbutus and the family at this time of loss..

We grieve the loss of your father Ron. I first met him when spent ‘89 in graduate studies. We worked in several projects together over the years and his unrelenting call to the gospel and its impact on the welfare of the community set the bar high. See you later. David.

I offer my sincere condolences to Ron's family. Our mothers were sisters. My memories take place in Ron's earlier years. I see him as an energetic farm boy with a ready chuckle. Often when he and his siblings were in bed, their voices could heard calling back and forth "please forgive me if I've done anything wrong" in preparation for a peaceful night's rest. Our visitation as families over Sunday dinner "on the farm" or " in town" at our home evoke fond memories In earlier years he was just "Ronnie".
